At the start of the ceremony Richard Dunning requested that anyone who did need to rush away when the ceremony had ended, to form a complete human chain around the Crater by holding hands.

At the end of the ceremony after the scattering of petals, this human chain was achieved. A complete unbroken circle around the perimeter. The two photographs show a section of the gathering.
