In recent years Christian Bernard, the dedicated Maire of Ovillers La Boisselle has become a firm Friend of Lochnagar and, supported by the local community, has been most helpful on numerous occasions assisting with arrangements and challenges. Whether they’re matters of security or helping arrange village children to sing the ‘Marseillaise’ it is great to know that he is there. We, in our turn, try at all times to be respectful of local laws and edicts and we’re pleased to say we have warm relationships with many people in the commune. It is hugely rewarding, and a privilege to be part of the evolving connection with these lovely people.
