The Lochnagar Crater Foundation is now officially established and one of its roles is to eventually take over the running and stewardship of the Crater in the unlikely event of me not always being around, long-term.
I will, in the coming months give everybody a detailed report on how it will operate, but essentially it will not interfere with any of the brilliant conservation work that the Friends regularly do, and hopefully will continue to do in the future. The Foundation is the only feasible way to protect Lochnagar in the future, as well as being the perfect vehicle for developing its role as an internationally recognised place of pilgrimage, peace and reconciliation.
