We believe that the vast Lochnagar Crater on the Somme is a unique and special place where the tranquil, unspoilt surroundings can evoke, as few places can, many of the dramatic and poignant events of World War One. It is a place where extraordinary courage, dedication, suffering and sacrifice was shown by previous generations and needs to be preserved for future generations. You can help us do this by becoming a Friend of Lochnagar. All the money will go towards the expense of the ceremony and essential works to maintain improve and preserve the site. In return, you will receive a small membership pack containing a car sticker and, the Friends Newsletter several times a year. The Friends also publish an interesting and informed journal called the 'New Chequers' twice a year which is an optional extra. You can also purchase a 'Friends of Lochnagar' lapel pin and a 'Friends' Tie.

Friends of Lochnagar has an email-based discussion group to provide a method for easy communication and collaboration between group members. It is a free service offered through Google but administered by members of the Friends. All discussion is private to the group and not accessible from the wider internet. To opt in to the group please provide an email address on this form and we will sign you up when your application is processed.
